Why this exists
Most of what we know about each other's mood comes from loud posts and heated comment threads. That makes it easy to feel like everyone else is fine, or that everyone is angry.
Mental health is on a lot of people's minds right now. Mood Map PH gives a quieter, more honest picture: how people across the country say they feel about life, family, work and money, school, and politics, place by place, week by week.
The goal is simple: help people feel less alone, and help communities notice when something is weighing on them.
Be part of it
Pick a pin. Every one of these helps someone feel less alone.
- Add my feeling to the map10 seconds. Anonymous. Start here.
- Take a minuteBreathe, play a quiz, have a laugh.
- Start a project16 ready-made ideas for your class or barangay.
- See the mapHow everyone is doing, week by week.
Living or working abroad? You count too. Choose “Outside the Philippines” when you check in.
How it works
Then you'll see that you're not the only one, with one small thing to try next. Your check-in joins everyone else's on the map. If you want, you can then say it with art on overleyz.art, our sister site. That link opens a new page and the feeling stays in your own browser.
Your privacy
Mood Map PH is built around the principles of the Philippines' Data Privacy Act (RA 10173): collect only what's needed, say plainly what that is, and keep it no longer than necessary.
What we keep
The city or town you pick from the list (or your country, if you are abroad), your barangay only if you add it, the topic, the feeling, and the hour.
What we never keep
Your name, an account, your email, your IP address, your device details, or anything you type. There is nothing to type.
- No cookies, no tracking, no ads, no analytics. Nothing from other companies loads on this page, not even fonts.
- We don't sell or share check-ins.
- A place only appears once enough people there have checked in: 20 for a region, province or city, and 50 for a barangay.
- You pick your place from the official list of Philippine places. We store only its official code.
- Numbers update about every 15 minutes, not live, so nobody can watch the counters and guess what one person chose.
- For Filipinos abroad we keep only the country, never a city or address, and a country appears on the map only once 50 people there have checked in.
- Check-ins are deleted after one year.
- We test these promises automatically every time we change the app.
Region outlines on the map come from faeldon/philippines-json-maps (MIT licence), which is based on public Philippine Statistics Authority and NAMRIA boundaries. They are simplified and not an official map.

How to read the map
Behind the scenes, every feeling word has a score from 1 (the heaviest, like "hopeless") to 5 (the lightest, like "thrilled"). The map colors and trend lines show the average. "Finding it hard" is the share of check-ins with a heavy feeling.
Those scores are a simple way to see change over time. They are not a medical measure, and they are a judgement call that we keep reviewing.
The comment reader
The Comments tab reads a pasted or uploaded set of comments in English, Filipino or Taglish and shows the overall mood and the words behind it. It comes from Pulse, a separate project.
- Comments you paste or upload stay in your browser. They are never sent to us or anyone else.
- If you use a YouTube link, our server fetches that video's public comments for you (so your address never goes to Google). We use only the comment text and likes, never the names, and we don't keep anything.
- Facebook pages can't be fetched, because Facebook doesn't allow it. Copy the comments and paste them instead.
- Commenter names are never shown, kept or exported.
- It estimates. It misses sarcasm and context, so read the comments yourself before acting on a result, and never use it to make decisions about a person.
What this is not
- It is not a diagnosis or a mental health test.
- It does not represent everyone. It shows only people who chose to check in.
- It is not a place to name or blame people, and there is no free text.
- It is not a replacement for talking to someone.
If you need someone to talk to
You don't have to carry it alone. The NCMH Crisis Hotline is free: call 1553, or 0917-899-8727 / 0966-351-4518. In immediate danger, call 911.
Status: this is a prototype
Mood Map PH is being tested and is not a finished product. Features, wording and numbers can change, and anything you see may be incomplete. The numbers are not official statistics. Nothing here is medical advice or a substitute for talking to a professional. If you are struggling, please use the support options on the Share page.
Who's behind it
Mood Map PH is a product of Skools, built under the skooled.online projects, and made by Leyz. It started from one question: what would it look like if the internet asked how we feel, and then showed us we're not the only one?
Your turn.
It takes about ten seconds, and it's anonymous.
